"The Joan Effect" is our philosophy that the work we do in Joan can have a noticeable effect on the women involved, as well as the those around us. Small efforts add up and can make great change.
Whether our focus is on adjusting the language we use (or allow), instilling new beliefs about ourselves, or driving policy change- the effects are important and will take time. We believe if we keep showing up and working as a collective, we can do great things.
